Basic Free Will
We will provide a Basic Free Will Service for members of the Association. In the event that a member and their partner wish to make separate wills we will do the members free of charge and the partner’s will at a cost of £50 plus VAT.
Probate
We will provide probate advice in the unfortunate event of a member or relative dying. We will charge for this service at a discounted hourly rate of £ 130 per hour plus VAT OR 15% of the total value of the estate whichever is the cheaper. The total charge will be dependent on how much we are required to do and members who take advantage of this service will be advised before any work is done, as accurately as we can, of the likely total cost to the estate. From experience, in the event of us doing all the work required in administering and average estate, it will cost no more than the funeral account.
Conveyancing
We will offer to members fixed rate conveyancing. This will be at the discounted rate of £300 plus VAT, together with the payments that we have to make to other bodies e.g. local authority search fees. If members are selling and buying a property at the same time, we will charge £500 plus VAT for both transactions plus the payments to other bodies. We will advise members before doing any work of what the total charge for our fees and other cost will be.
Housing Law
We are happy to advise members on any problems they face in regards to housing, either as tenants or owner-occupiers with mortgages. Any initial advice will be given free of charge. If any court action results then our services will be provided at a discounted rate to be agreed with the member before any steps are taken on their behalf.
